PLAYROOM TOYS

Toys just have a way of accumulating, but I try to rotate things and keep our overall toy count low. It helps with clean up and honestly, kids only need so many things.

Playroom Toys

Lovevery Play Kits. These are the only toys you really need. This is a subscription box service that is delivered by your baby's stage every 2-3 months. My mother-in-law got these for Asher's first Christmas and it's the gift that keeps on giving! New toys arrive regularly that are aligned with Asher's developmental stage. And I kept all of the toys inside each subscription box together for Everett, so as he's developmentally ready, I introduce him to the new-to-him toys. The toys are great quality, Montessori-inspired things that have held up great. They're not bright colored plastic noise making things either, so they fit my aesthetic as well.

Melissa & Doug everything. We have a ton of this brand because, similar to Lovevery, they're also quiet wood toys that fit my aesthetic. Listing all the tried and true things we have below!

Busy boards. We have this one and this one. I originally purchased them to keep an active 18 month old busy on a flight with something quiet that wouldn't disturb other passengers.

Tool set. Asher loves this tool set and it comes with a box which makes for easy clean up!

Cars. Asher has somehow amassed a car collection over the years, so those are in one of his bins.

Tractors. Every time Charlie takes Asher to Tractor Supply, he seems to come home with a new tractor.

Balls. Footballs, soccer balls, squishy balls, soft balls... you know, balls.

Fruit Color Sorting Set. This was also a gift, and both kids love them! They've been good for working on colors and vocabulary.

Books. We have quite the little library and Asher loves books. I recommended in my baby registry list post that you do the book instead of a card thing, and I credit that to our book collection! I pick up seasonal-themed books that we keep in storage until that time of year, and the Lovevery subscription boxes usually come with books as well. I'll also pick up cute books (like this one) as I see them because, let's be honest, I'm the one reading them and I can use a little diversion every now and then.

And that's our playroom! I do have two bins in our hall closet where I store some of the Lovevery play kits. These are the ones that Asher has outgrown and Everett isn't quite ready for yet. Or they're ones that Asher would still like to play with, but that I keep hidden so I can swap things out every now and then because 1) kids get bored of the same toys constantly, and 2) it's less mess for me to have to clean up.
