If you follow any interior designers, you may have noticed that watercolor landscapes are popping up in every room design, from kids' bedrooms to kitchens. Examples below.
I am absolutely here for this trend. I love the abstractness that watercolors have and obviously I love the color scheme of landscapes in all their natural glory (olive green for days). I also love that you can go from a light pink (think a sunrise landscape) to a dark blue (ocean, anyone?) easily with this trend, so it can fit in almost any room.
And while I love trends that are easy to incorporate, I don't like doing something just because it's what everyone else is doing. And, like I mentioned in my DIY Kid’s Artwork post, I like things in my home that are meaningful or significant in some way.
So, I wanted to incorporate my own landscapes in my home, but I don't have the artistic ability or the time to take up this new hobby. Alas, wouldn't you know, there's an app for that! Download Waterlogue. My favorite filter is the Vibrant- Natural, and after applying it to a photo I also play around with the brightness in my normal settings. I then email it to myself so I can print it out from a computer.
For my pantry, I framed some photos I took in Amalfi to go with my lemon vibe in there. I’m planning to use this app for a few other photos I have and eventually will get around to framing and hanging too!
